Cambridge Architectural is the leading U.S. manufacturer of architectural mesh systems, specializing in designing, building, and installing building tension systems that offer many building design solutions. The companies' mesh products provide viable and cost-effective new alternatives to traditional architectural louvers, grille, and screen products.
In addition to being a highly practical solution to many architectural challenges, the mesh systems are aesthetically pleasing, visually stimulating, creatively versatile, and capable of transforming a simple interior or exterior into a compelling work of art.
Requirements:
Cambridge Architectural had an existing Web site that was built in Flash, which limited their ability to be found by the search engines. The site failed to communicate the true nature and extent of the business and wasn't able to provide visitors access to the resources that Cambridge had to offer.
Cambridge required a high level Web site that:
- Reflected their credibility as a serious architectural solutions company.
- Offered visitors easy access to their numerous resources.
- Showcased their magnificent library of product photography.
- Collected email addresses to build up an email database.
Solutions:
ADI preceded the project by fine-tuning wire frame navigation, then designed and created a Web site that was consistent with Cambridge's image as a contemporary and revolutionary provider of architectural solutions. Included are a flash element built into the home page, an extensive project gallery, access to downloads, and separate resources for architects & engineers, owners and developers, and contractors.
Content management functionality combined with a SQL database allows Cambridge to upload their own projects and provide Web visitors with information as it becomes available. ADI also included a search tool and sitemap.
Results:
Visitors to the Cambridge Architectural Web site start their visual experience of the product on the home page where a flash element highlights both the form and functionality of the mesh. Subsequent pages showcase photographs prominently, and visitors requiring further visual information can browse through the gallery.
By logging in to the download section, visitors can download high-res photos, data sheets, and other useful resources. User-friendly navigation allows easy access to any part of the site and "featured projects" draw visitors to must-see projects.
Most importantly, the new Web site positions Cambridge Architectural as the big-league, cutting edge company that it is.
